Shea butter
Raw shea butter, an African treasure suitable for all skin types.
Known for centuries in Africa, shea butter is now renowned in Canada, Europe, and the United States for its softening and nourishing properties. It is also used in cosmetics and is included in the majority of La Savonnerie Blanchou soaps.
Extracted from the shea nut, our "raw" shea butter has not undergone any refining or processing. This is why it may occasionally emit a nutty odor. Don't worry, this is proof that it is a premium "raw" butter.
The raw shea butter offered by La Savonnerie Blanchou comes from Ghana, a West African country. Ghanaian soil produces a high level of stearic acid, which gives our shea butter a solid consistency, while Ugandan shea butter is more often than not liquid and requires an additional process to become solid.
Rich in essential fatty acids, latex and vitamins A, D and E, our shea butter is an exceptional component recognized for its numerous cosmetic properties including:
- protective action against skin drying
- special properties of softness and smoothness
- scratch protection
- healing action on wounds
